The Joy and Challenges of Bee Keeping: Presented by Erik Tompkins
Bring your honey for a fun and fact filled evening as Hudson Valley resident Erik Tompkins lectures on the Joy and Challenges of Bee Keeping.
The subject of this presentation will be understanding the Honey bee and the many responsibilities each bee performs. Discussion will include; Swarming process, Hive communication, mites treatment. This presentation is expected to last 45 minutes with 15 minutes of Q and A. Honey will be available for sale. A basket raffle will be held to support the mission of the Rhinebeck Grange.
About Our Lecturer: Erik Tompkins, CP, BOCO is an Upper limb specialist and Hobbyist Beekeeper He is an advisory board member of the Ulster County Beekeepers Association. He has been a Beekeeper for 5 years and currently managing 25 hives.
The lecture will be held at Morton Memorial Library, 82 Kelly St, Rhinecliff, NY 12574. Admission is free. For information call 845-876-6488
